NEEDED TO APPLY:

1. Birth certicate issued by the state or county with a raised seal and a filling date within one year of birth. If it is a delayed birth certificate (filed more than one year after birth), more documentation will be needed. If there is no birth certificate, we will need a letter from the state informing us there is no official certificate on file. Then, along with that we will need secondary evidence. Hospital birth certificates will not be excepted.

2. Two (2) passport photos.

3. Picture ID, like a driver's license, with valid expiration date.

Adults (16 and over) valid for 10 years, costs $60.00 ,
Children (under 16) valid for 5 years, cost $40.00.

The processing time is now given as 25 business days. Depending, on the time of year, the processing time may be shorter then that and never any longer. Passports cam be expedited and returned in about a week. the departure date for an expedited passport should be within the next two weeks. Cost, in addition to the basic price, is $35.00 expediting fee and $21.50 for express mail to and from New Orleans.

CHILDREN'S PASSPORT:

Any child at least 13 years of age will need to appear in person and sign his/her own application. We can use their identification or their parents. Children 12 and under do not need to appear and their parents can execute the application. Also anyone under 16 applying for a passport must have:

1. Check issued by parent for payment OR
2. Parents ID used in application OR
3. Xerox copy of parents driver's license with parents OK and signature written on the copy.
